Today was my first day at the office. I basically spent the majority of the day constructing an awesome tour-leader box. Almost all leaders have a big, plywood box that nestles in between the two front seats of the van where they store all things that they need to have within arms reach (paperwork, maps, pens/pencils, smokes, CDs, bagels, taser, etc.). Normally the boxes are just plywood squares, about 2 by 2 and 3 feet high. Due to my insatiable O.C.D. I have always taken a day to build the “Pimp” box, tricked out with several different compartments. This box I even designed some “secret” compartments to hide my gear while I am in some of the sketchier areas I will be visiting. I put in a false bottom to hide my laptop and another little compartment that slides out and fits my camera and Ipod. Complete security! All it’s missing is some booby traps and a trip wire. Today I also smoothed out the music problem a bit. My mother (thank you so much!) sorted through all of my CDs and overnighted me a whole book of my favorites.
